Raising Funds for St Bernard’s Hospice: All participants of the St Bernard’s Hospice Cycle Challenge are encouraged to raise funds via sponsorship over and above their entry fee. Entry fees simply cover the costs involved with hosting the cycle challenge and does not go towards fundraising.
Sponsorship contributions (not cyclists entry fees) and all other proceeds from the St Bernard’s Hospice Annual Cycle Challenge will go towards the care & support of our Cancer, Motor Neuron Disease, Parkinson’s Disease & Multiple Sclerosis Patients.
All patients with any life limiting illness are eligible for Hospice Palliative care.
WHAT THE ENTRY FEE INCLUDES:
20 November 2018 – Evening Before Event
Accommodation for out of Town Cyclists.
Dinner & Breakfast & Packed Lunch.
21 November 2018 – Day 1
Cycle FROM East London TO Stutterheim – 87 km
Meet at Floradale Nursary, East London @ 6 am
Accommodation – The Manderson Hotel – Stutterheim.
Dinner & Breakfast & Packed Lunch.
Refreshments and snacks along the way supplied.
22 November 2018 – DAY 2
Cycle FROM Stutterheim TO Queenstown – 100 km
Accommodation The Burrough, Queenstown.
Dinner & Breakfast & Packed Lunch.
Refreshments and snacks along the way supplied.
23 November – DAY 3
Cycle FROM Queenstown TO East London – 187 km
Refreshments and snacks along the way supplied.
Arrive at Floradale – Snacks and certificate presentation for cyclists and family.
ST BERNARD’S HOSPICE WILL COMMIT TO :
- Traffic assistance all the way from East London to Queenstown & Return.
- Backup vehicles & support all the way.
- Medical assistance.
What to bring with you :
- Waterproof gear for rainy weather conditions.
- Your own protein shakes, energy bars, water bottles, etc. (We will supply water)
- Any tools or parts required to maintain your bicycle.
What the Entry does NOT include :
- Travel Expenses to East London prior to the St Bernard’s Hospice cycle challenge.
- All Alcoholic beverages/bar tabs are for the individuals account only.
- Energy bars and corn syrup, protein shakes etc.
- We recommend that cyclists bring back-up repair kits, tubes, etc. as any repairs along the cycle challenge are for the individuals account.
